Set against the tranquil wilderness of Aahana Resort & Spa, Arushi and Hemang’s wedding unfolded as a striking confluence of culture, colour, and immersive design. Thoughtfully brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – Unik Experiences, the celebration seamlessly blended Pahadi roots with bold visual storytelling. Each event carried a distinct identity, from a vibrant Haldi rooted in tradition to a glamorous, high-energy Sangeet, culminating in a red and gold wedding that felt both iconic and unforgettable.
Wedding Venue
Set on the edge of Jim Corbett National Park by the Kosi River, Aahana Resort & Spa offered a serene, nature-led setting that felt both immersive and refined. Known for its eco-conscious design, the lush property created an intimate guest experience. Expansive forest-fringed lawns set the stage for daytime celebrations, while elegant indoor spaces seamlessly hosted vibrant evenings.
Wedding Planning
What defined Arushi and Hemang’s wedding was its clarity of vision and boldness in execution. Led by Unik Experiences, the celebration was anchored in strong cultural inspiration without dilution, with clearly defined colour palettes lending each function a unique identity. Every detail, from décor to guest experience, was thoughtfully curated to feel cohesive yet distinct.
Shaivya and Ayush from Unik Experiences share, “The brief was clear from the start. We wanted each function to feel like its own world, yet remain rooted in the couple’s story. It was about balancing authenticity with design, and ensuring that every element felt intentional.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
Deeply inspired by Pahadi roots and local traditions, the Haldi ceremony unfolded as a vibrant and soulful celebration. The setting came alive with yellow genda florals, banana trees, brass elements, and earthy textures, creating an atmosphere that felt festive yet grounded. A bold palette of yellow, purple, and fuchsia added a contemporary edge to the traditional aesthetic. Experiential details elevated the celebration beautifully. A Garhwali chaat counter serving lemon chutney paid homage to regional flavours, while signature drinks like Kesar Lassi and Butterfly Pea Lemonade echoed the event’s colour story. Thoughtful favours, like, naths, potlis, and bangles celebrated local culture in a personal way.
The bride and groom’s seating, styled with cane baskets, brass vessels, and layered florals, brought together rustic charm and refined design. As Shaivya notes, “We wanted the Haldi to feel rooted and joyful, like a celebration that truly belonged to the hills.”
Sangeet
In striking contrast, the Sangeet transformed into a high-energy, immersive indoor experience. Designed around rich jewel tones of emerald green, teal, and sapphire, the space exuded glamour and drama. Clusters of disco balls reflected dynamic lighting across the venue, while lush greenery softened the indoor setting. Dramatic hues of green, blue, and magenta created depth and movement, complemented by a classic checkered dance floor that added a bold, retro-inspired touch.
Tables were styled with emerald textures, orchids, and ambient lamps, striking a balance between opulence and warmth. The bar emerged as a standout feature, with custom drink names inspired by Garhwali and Punjabi culture, subtly weaving the couple’s story into the experience. “The Sangeet was designed to be immersive and electric,” shares Ayush. “It was about creating a space where music, performance, and design could come together effortlessly.”
Wedding
The wedding ceremony stood as the most visually powerful chapter of the celebration. Built around a rich red-and-gold palette, it felt opulent yet deeply evocative. A striking dress code elevated the entire experience, with guests arriving in shades of red, while the bride and groom, dressed in gold, became the focal point against this vivid backdrop. The décor echoed this vision through layers of red florals interwoven with mogra and rajnigandha, accented with brass and gold elements. The mandap and aisle, adorned with rose petals, created a sense of depth and richness, while hundreds of candles cast a warm, immersive glow across the venue. A central tree adorned with hanging brass bells added a spiritual resonance, complemented by live tabla and sitar music that infused the ceremony with a soulful charm. The three-sided mandap seating ensured intimacy while maintaining grandeur, allowing guests to feel closely connected to the rituals. Reflecting on the finale, Shaivya shares, “The wedding was designed to feel iconic yet intimate. The red and gold palette, the music, and the textures all came together to create a moment that felt timeless.”
