Krishika and Aayush’s wedding was a seamless confluence of thoughtful storytelling, refined design, and meticulous execution. How They Met
The couple first met in school, but it was during junior college that their friendship grew into something deeper. Over the years, their bond strengthened, and they have now been together for a decade, truly growing up side by side.
Wedding Planning
Envisioning a celebration that felt vibrant, romantic, and regal while remaining intimate and modern, Krishika and Aayush were clear about creating an experience that was meaningful rather than ostentatious. With Believe Weddings leading the planning and production, alongside the design expertise of It’s an Affair, the décor finesse of National Decorators, who designed the haldi and mehndi, and Movie’ing Moments capturing each layer of the journey with sensitivity and detail, every element was thoughtfully curated to strike the perfect balance between scale and warmth.
Personalisation lay at the heart of the celebrations, from curated food experiences with recommendation tags to subtle nods to Mumbai and London, the two cities that shaped their journey. Emotional moments, like the bride being walked down the aisle by her father and uncle, were given as much importance as the visual spectacle. Detail and discipline defined the planning process. While the bride brought her own keen eye for aesthetics, the team ensured structure, clarity, and seamless execution across functions. Transparency and practicality guided every decision, allowing creativity to flourish within a well managed framework. Sharing the design vision, Anusha Patel of It’s an Affair reveals, “Our vision for the wedding décor was deeply rooted in tradition, faith, and understated luxury. Being a Shreenathji follower, I wanted the design language to draw inspiration from the timeless beauty of a Haveli, while also incorporating the lotus as a central motif, a flower that beautifully resonates with both our cultures, as my fiancé is Jain. I also wanted subtle references to the motifs and architectural language of the Nathdwara Haveli to flow through the décor, which was incorporated beautifully, especially in the mandap design. It gave the space a distinct identity and created something very different from the more conventional mandaps usually seen at weddings today.
The brief was always to create something different from what is commonly seen, but in a way that felt effortless rather than extravagant. The décor needed to feel simple yet statement-making, rooted yet contemporary, and luxurious without excess. The colour palette of deep reds, maroons, whites, golds, and sandy browns came together beautifully to bring that vision to life.”
Aashay Samel and Aditya Kedia from Believe Weddings share, “With Krishika and Aayush, the vision was always clear: to create a celebration that felt grand yet personal. Our approach was to refine every detail while ensuring the experience remained effortless for them and their families. It was about translating emotion into design and flow, without ever letting it feel overwhelming.”

Wedding Functions
Cocktail
The cocktail evening unfolded as a glamorous speakeasy soirée, drawing inspiration from 1920s New York while retaining the unmistakable charm of Bombay. Hosted at a venue whose interiors already echo a Gatsby-esque aesthetic, the décor seamlessly complemented the venue, enhancing its character rather than competing with it. Deep, moody tones, vintage accents, and layered lighting created an immersive atmosphere that felt indulgent and transportive. The culinary experience took centre stage, with a globally inspired menu paired with inventive Bombay-themed cocktails like Bombay Bootlegger and Midnight at Marine Drive, adding a playful, local twist to the evening’s classic narrative.

Mehendi
The mehendi, themed as ‘Gulnar Bagh’, unfolded as a vibrant sundowner by the poolside. Set against the calming backdrop of Juhu Beach, the celebration embraced a breezy, garden-inspired aesthetic that felt joyful and relaxed.
Bright florals, soft drapes, and sunlit hues brought the garden of joy to life, while thoughtfully curated experiences added layers of charm. Guests engaged in everything from coconut shell candle-making to exploring the bride’s favourite evil eye charm stall. The caricature photo booth emerged as a delightful highlight, capturing moments with a playful twist, while heartfelt family performances added warmth to the evening.
Haldi Brunch
Reimagined as ‘Phoolon Ki Mandi’, the haldi brunch was a vibrant, flower-filled celebration that blended tradition with an interactive, festive spirit. The décor drew inspiration from a bustling floral marketplace, with marigolds, fresh blooms, and colourful elements creating a lively daytime setting.
Activity zones added to the immersive experience, from a gajra station to games like ring toss and bowling, ensuring a sense of playful engagement throughout. A standout element was the hawker-style food stall inspired by Mumbai’s Jamnabai School’s hawkers’ lane, a nostalgic nod that added a deeply personal layer. Details like a playing-card guest book and an ice cream stall further enhanced the charm, making the celebration feel intimate and full of character.

Wedding
The wedding ceremony unfolded as a serene and deeply spiritual celebration. Inspired by the sacred essence of Vrindavan, the décor was a modern interpretation of a haveli, with a grand mandap at the centre serving as a breathtaking focal point. The festivities began with a spirited baraat, where the groom’s squad added a playful touch with custom-designed Test cricket jerseys and lively props. As the ceremony commenced, fourteen pandits from Sandipani Ashram conducted the Vedic rituals, filling the space with chants that evoked calm and reverence. As vows gave way to celebration, the night transitioned into a high-energy afterparty.
