Jushti Kaji and Shanav Jalan, Taj Lands End, Mumbai

Modern design met tradition in this red-hued seaside mandap in Mumbai, creating a setting that felt both striking and rooted in ritual.

Planned with thoughtful precision by WeddingSutra Favorite – Castles and Coasters and captured with sensitivity by WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul, Jushti Kaji, a content creator and Shanav Jalan’s wedding at Taj Lands End, Mumbai came together as a well-balanced celebration that felt personal and easy. The planners translated the couple’s ideas into a cohesive experience, while the photographers documented it in a way that reflected both the atmosphere and the emotions of each moment.

How They Met
Jushti and Shanav’s story did not unfold through one defining moment. It took shape over time, through phases of connection, distance, and finding their way back to each other when it felt right. What began as occasional conversations gradually grew into something more meaningful as they became clearer about themselves and what they wanted. They started dating in 2019, at nineteen. Their earliest memories are of long drives with no destination. Evenings spent talking about music, careers, independence, and the kind of partners they hoped to become. It did not begin with a single moment, but evolved into something lasting.

Wedding Venue
Set against the sweeping edge of the Arabian Sea, Taj Lands End offered an expansive yet intimate setting for Jushti and Shanav’s wedding. The lower lawns near the pool created a natural balance between openness and structure, allowing the celebrations to unfold against uninterrupted sea views while still feeling contained and personal. The transition from day to evening was particularly striking, with the light softening over the water and lending the ceremony a quiet warmth. Its location in the city made it easily accessible for guests, while the scale and layout of the venue allowed the décor and planning to come together seamlessly without feeling overwhelming, making it a well-suited choice for a celebration that was rooted in both tradition and ease.

Wedding Planning
The couple worked closely with planners Castles and Coasters, who understood their vision early on and translated it into a celebration that felt consistent and well thought through. The team managed both the larger concepts and the finer details, allowing the couple to focus on being present through each event. The bride shares, “A real-life fairytale it’s Castles and Coasters. The entire team were nothing short of magical. From day one, they understood our vibe and our vision, even the things we could not clearly express. Every detail, big or small, was handled with care and patience.” She adds, “Wedding planning can feel overwhelming, but they made the process smooth and enjoyable. On the actual days, we did not have to worry about anything. We could just experience everything as it unfolded. They brought our ideas to life in a way that truly felt like us.”

The photography team, Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul, played an equally important role in shaping how the wedding would be remembered. Their presence felt natural and unobtrusive, which reflected in the way the moments were captured. “Working with Knotty Affair was one of the best decisions we made,” the bride says. “It never felt like we were working with a team. It felt like they were genuinely invested in us and our story.”

She continues, “The entire team did not just document the wedding; they were a part of it. They captured everything, the chaos, the emotions, the laughter, and the quiet moments we did not even notice at the time. They made us feel comfortable, so nothing felt staged or forced. When we look back at the photos and videos now, it feels exactly how it did in those moments.”

Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Remember, it is your wedding. There will always be opinions, but the choices that matter most are the ones that feel right to you. Choose your vendors carefully. The right teams make the entire process smoother and more enjoyable. Do not try to control everything. Some things will not go as planned, and that is part of the experience.

Take time to be present with each other, even if it is just for a few minutes between events. It goes by quickly, so take it in while it is happening. Make sure you eat, dance, and enjoy your own celebration. Protect your peace and do not feel the need to engage with everything. What stays with you is not how everything looked, but how it felt and who you shared it with.”
