Amisha and Vikash, Alila Fort Bishangarh, Rajasthan
An ode to the couple’s global sensibilities and their heritage, this destination wedding in Rajasthan was an elegant and lively celebration.
Amisha and Vikash’s wedding unfolded as a thoughtfully curated celebration of culture, design, and storytelling, one that felt as personal as it was visually striking. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Alila Fort Bishangarh, the celebration was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Mapsor Experiential Weddings, seamlessly bringing together immersive concepts, refined aesthetics, and meticulous execution. Every detail reflected a cohesive narrative rooted in the couple’s journey, one that also lovingly included their dog, Chai, as a symbolic thread woven throughout.

Wedding Venue
Set against the rugged hills of Rajasthan, Alila Fort Bishangarh offered a setting that was both majestic and immersive. This 230-year-old warrior fort, now reimagined as a luxury heritage hotel, brought together dramatic architecture, panoramic views, and a sense of timeless grandeur. Its stone corridors, expansive courtyards, and elevated vantage points created a natural stage for each celebration, allowing the wedding design to interact seamlessly with the fort’s historic character while offering guests an experience that felt distinctly rooted in place.

Wedding Planning
For Amisha and Vikash, the vision was clear: a wedding that reconnected them with their Indian roots while offering their international guests an experience that felt authentic yet elevated. Each function was imagined as a distinct chapter, which was immersive, intentional, and layered with meaning. The brief balanced tradition with a contemporary global sensibility, calling for intimate yet high-design settings. An integral layer to this narrative was a bespoke storybook-style magazine that chronicled the couple’s journey, from their love story to moments shared with their beloved dog, Chai. This narrative thread was thoughtfully woven across functions, allowing guests to engage with the couple’s world in a way that felt both intimate and immersive.
Speaking about the approach, Pritesh Sharma from Mapsor Experiential Weddings shares, “The idea was to move beyond aesthetics and create an experience that guests could truly feel. Every function was designed to evoke a different emotion while staying connected through a larger narrative.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
The Haldi ceremony was envisioned as a vibrant yet grounded celebration, designed especially for guests experiencing Indian traditions for the first time. A monotone off-white canvas set the stage, allowing bursts of organic colour to transform the space as the festivities unfolded.
Accents of orange, pink, and yellow florals paired with jute textures, terracotta pots, white umbrellas, and wooden furniture created an earthy, tactile environment. As the ceremony progressed, a Holi experience brought the setting alive, with guests becoming part of the décor itself and turning the venue into a dynamic canvas of colour!

Mehndi and Cocktail
In contrast, the Mehndi and Cocktail soirée embraced a vintage Victorian speakeasy theme, unfolding under the night sky with a sense of intrigue and playfulness. Guests entered through a secret code system, setting the tone for an evening inspired by the ‘Prohibition Era’ charm. Barrels, cigars, vintage books, suitcases, and gold vases with red and white feather arrangements defined the décor. A vintage typewriter station encouraged guests to leave handwritten notes for the couple, adding an interactive and deeply personal layer to the evening.

Mandwa Ceremony
Set against the architectural character of the Bawari venue, the Mandwa ceremony was rooted in tradition while maintaining a refined restraint. Red florals and green potted plants dominated the palette. A floral Lord Ganesha served as the spiritual anchor, while cascading floral elements subtly enhanced the existing structure. The design approach remained minimal, allowing the inherent beauty of the venue to shine through with quiet elegance.

Wedding
The wedding ceremony embraced a soft, romantic aesthetic, defined by a palette of white and green with delicate blush accents. At its heart stood a cascading floral mandap, an ethereal structure that brought the bride’s vision to life. The dinner that followed transitioned into a formal, European-inspired setting with reserved seating. Chandeliers suspended above the tables and crystal candelabras added a layer of understated grandeur, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate yet polished.

Poolside Brunch
After the layered intensity of the main celebrations, the poolside brunch offered a moment of pause. Designed with a light, minimal approach, the setting allowed guests to unwind in a relaxed, scenic environment, bringing a sense of ease and continuity to the overall experience.
Reception
The reception marked a striking departure in design, embracing bold minimalism with no florals at all. Inspired by classic English dining settings, the space relied entirely on candlelight to create depth and warmth. Clean tablescapes layered with candles transformed the evening into an intimate, glowing experience. The absence of florals allowed lighting to take centre stage, exuding luxury through restraint and precision.
