Nitya Pandit and Arnav Gupta, Taj Damdama, Gurgaon
A long romance is celebrated with a wedding that starts by looking at the stars!
A glamping night with a cozy set up and candles set the tone for the wedding of Nitya Pandit, who is from a Kashmiri family, and Arnav Gupta, who is from a Baniya family. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Tailormade Experiences, the multi-day wedding saw the culmination of a long journey for the couple who had first met as classmates in Std XI. The two have an IT background and currently work at Arnav’s father’s company.

How They Met
Nitya and Arnav first met in Std. 11 at the same school, where they often exchanged notes in their math and physics classes. After graduating, they reconnected at a mutual friend’s house and soon became best friends, speaking every day and frequently video-calling during their freshman year of college. Their friendship continued for eight years.
In 2022, Nitya confessed that she had feelings for Arnav. Soon after, Arnav moved to the U.S., and the two navigated a long-distance relationship. In 2024, Arnav proposed to Nitya with her favourite drink, Poppi and her favourite snack, Maggi along with a video of him singing and dancing, surprising her parents and some friends.

Wedding Planning
Shashank Gupta and Zashank Bhatia of Tailormade Experiences say, “The couple wanted each of their events to feel unique, with glamorous décor and vibrant colors. We started with the Glamping Night, which also had a telescope for guests to watch the stars! The Welcome Lunch had bright colours, and the Sangeet and Mehendi featured gemstone colors with a Killam Bazaar theme, using carpets, horses, mirror signage, and Kashmiri props. Inspired by the charm of a bustling Kashmiri marketplace, the spaces were layered with rich textiles, traditional accents, and immersive details that brought the theme to life beautifully. The Baraat and Wedding décor was in pastel pink and white, with a mandap inspired by Gardens by the Bay and hints of Sheesh Mahal.”

Glamping Night
The official start of the wedding celebrations, this event was organized especially for the youngsters, with an “Under the Stars” theme. The evening had music, food, a cozy bonfire, a polaroid photo booth and a stargazing experience with a telescope.
Welcome Lunch
This was planned as the first event at the venue, with a high energy dhol troupe. A Yin & Yang inspired activity was organized, where guests wrote down notes about how Nitya and Arnav complement each other’s personalities, along with a live bangle making stall and a video booth, where guests could record their message on a video for the couple to watch later on.
Sangeet & Mehendi
With a Kashmiri theme and customized drinks curated to complement the evening, the Sangeet featured Bollywood-style performances by family and friends. A comfort footwear station was also thoughtfully arranged so guests could slip into something more comfortable and enjoy the celebrations with ease. The notes written by guests during the Welcome Lunch were later hung on a tree at the Sangeet, allowing everyone to read the heartfelt thoughts. The highlight of the night was an electrifying performance by Aastha Gill.

Wedding
Soft pastel hues were used to enhance the natural beauty of the venue. The celebrations began with Arnav’s baraat after the Sherabandhi. The baraat was lively, with a vintage car for the groom, a DJ trunk for the guests, and confetti bombs adding to the excitement.
The couple then walked together towards the Varmala stage and exchanged garlands while rose petals showered over them. The pheres were a calm and beautiful ceremony, with the Sitar Symphony playing soft instrumental music in the background as the rituals took place. This was followed by the wedding dinner, where the couple’s friends gave them a sparkling entry. The family shared a few heartfelt speeches, followed by a champagne pop and a Yin & Yang inspired cake to celebrate the occasion. The night ended with a fun and engaging performance by Jude Corneille.

Reception
The reception was held at Upper HSE by Tivoli, with Khusro’s Band delivering a soulful Sufi performance. Fortune cookies containing a note thanking the guests for being a part of the couple’s wedding celebrations, made for a special gesture!
