Blending cultures, continents, and a shared sense of discovery, Meera and Mohit Gurnani’s wedding unfolded as a celebration that felt both intimate and expansive. Meera, of Gujarati roots, was born and raised in the UK, while Mohit, from a Sindhi family, grew up in Abu Dhabi. Their paths crossed in the UK during Mohit’s further studies, where a friendship gradually evolved into a meaningful partnership. Bringing their vision to life with finesse and imagination were the planners and designers at WeddingSutra Favorite – Splendid Surprises Wedding & Events, who curated a multi-day celebration that was thoughtfully detailed.

Wedding Planning
With a clear emphasis on storytelling through design, Splendid Surprises Wedding & Events approached the wedding as a series of interconnected experiences, each with its own identity yet tied together by a consistent emotional thread. Aarefa Ahmedabadwala shares, “Every function was imagined as its own distinct world, while still feeling like a natural extension of Meera and Mohit’s journey. The idea was to create moments that felt immersive and memorable without losing their sense of warmth.” Pramod Manerikar adds, “From the initial concept to the final execution, the focus remained on translating their personalities into spaces that felt refined yet inviting. Balancing scale with intimacy was key, especially across multiple events with varied moods.”

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The Mehndi set the tone with a vibrant floral carnival that paid homage to both Gujarati and Sindhi roots. Designed to feel lively and interactive, the space was filled with playful elements that encouraged guests to engage with the setting. A floral-adorned swing became a focal point, while Rajasthani umbrellas introduced a touch of traditional charm. The inclusion of games added a sense of movement and energy, making the celebration feel dynamic and spirited. Abundant florals softened the bold palette, creating a setting that felt festive yet thoughtfully composed.

Sangeet
For the Sangeet, the couple stepped into an enchanted garden inspired by Meera’s vision of a dreamy, nature-led celebration. The décor leaned into a sense of whimsy, with delicate butterfly elements woven throughout the design. A specially crafted bar stood out for its intricate detailing, featuring textured wooden logs accented with petite butterflies.

Wedding
The wedding ceremony embraced a serene, pastel aesthetic set against a sweeping sea view. Designed to feel seamless and unobstructed, the mandap was kept transparent to allow uninterrupted views of the grand staircase and the ocean beyond. This thoughtful choice created a setting where architecture and nature blended effortlessly, resulting in a look that felt light, elegant, and quietly striking.

Reception
The reception, titled Starry Dreams, drew inspiration from Mohit’s fascination with the cosmos, translating it into a dramatic yet elegant setting. The space was enveloped in a celestial design language, with clouds and suspended stars forming a captivating overhead installation. Candlelit centrepieces added warmth and depth to the tables, while the highlight remained the entrance. A geometric tunnel with a cloud-like effect created a sense of anticipation, guiding guests into a setting that felt immersive.
