Discover her transformation at Grand WeddingSutra on Location held at JW Marriott Sahar
For the grand edition of our monthly event WeddingSutra on Location, we invited seven brides-to-be for a unique experience at the newest five star hotel in Mumbai, JW Marriott Sahar. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the second of the seven-part series, bride-to-be Anjali Kirpalani (a PR consultant and Author of ‘Written in the Stars’ and ‘Never Say Never’) blogs about her experience at the Grand WeddingSutra on Location.
“I’ve seen many ‘On Location’ shoots in the last two years and I always thought it would be fun to be in place of one of the brides-to-be. So when I heard about the Grand On Location shoot, I knew I had to be a part of it! My wedding is in November and I’m in the midst of deciding what hair and makeup I’d like for my different wedding functions.
So on the morning of the shoot, I made my way to the new JW Marriott in Andheri, and as I entered I thought the property was beautiful. Shooting was an absolute pleasure here with different backgrounds and locations to choose from.
I picked a lehenga by a young brand named ‘Shades’ (available at AZA). I loved the embellishments on the choli and lehenga and the color combination of the choli-lehenga-dupatta. The WeddingSutra team played a big role in helping each bride decide on the right outfit based on our skin tones and body frame, and did everything possible to ensure everyone were well taken care of.
Makeup maestro Ojas Rajani did a fantastic job with my hair and make-up. I love how the look was just right and not OTT. Ojas devoted a lot of time to each and every bride and the result was that everyone looked gorgeous!
All in all, I would recommend this experience to every bride-to-be. You get to try on beautiful outfits, get makeup and hair done by some of the biggest names in the industry, pose for the camera and feel like a model for a day- what’s not to love? Moreover, wedding planning can be very stressful and meeting other brides who are in the same boat as you, makes you realize that you’re not the only one!

Anjali’s Look
Ojas Rajani decided to give Anjali a fresh, summer-appropriate and contemporary look. Ojas started with using the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Face Stylist Foundation in Rose Fair to even out her skin and give a weightless coverage. She then set the base with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Ivory Fair. For Anjali’s eyes, Ojas used a champagne toned Peach Pearl shade of Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow to glam them up. She used Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate on the upper and lower lash lines and finished with a winged out smokey effect for a sultry look. She then applied a few coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara. Ojas added a touch of fresh Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Peach Blush shade on her cheeks for a summery glow. Her lips were defined with the newest Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick in Coral Flare shade. Since Anjali wished to sport a maang tikka, Ojas added extensions to her hair and left it open with soft bouncy curls and added a gorgeous beaded maang tikka from Azva adorning her forehead.
