Mithila Jain – KALKI Fashion

In our recent edition of WeddingSutra On Location, four brides-to-be were invited to KALKI, in Worli, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and culminating in a professional Photo Shoot, each bride-to-be had the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal and Wedding services.

Here, in the first of the four-part series, bride-to-be Mithila Jain writes us about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at KALKI.

“I live in South Mumbai and have almost a year to plan my wedding. I was discussing wedding clothes, my trousseau etc. with a friend’s sister and she told me about WeddingSutra on Location and suggested I get in touch with WeddingSutra. This had me thrilled – the chance to experience being a bride well before my wedding! I wrote to them and received a phone call within a few weeks. They explained everything on phone, and guided me through the entire process.

They called me for a shoot at KALKI in Worli. It was a whole new experience for me and I knew it would help me get a clearer idea of myself as a bride. When I reached, Team WeddingSutra greeted me warmly, discussed my preferences and showed me a few outfits, asking me to try them on to see what would suit me best.

I tried on a beautiful coral lehenga with a polki set by Mahesh Notandass and a maang tikka by KALKI for a traditional touch. I instantly had a picture in my head and was very excited about completing the entire look.

I was introduced to make-up artist Recinda Martis and after discussing my look with her, I was much more confident about how I’d present myself on my big day. She was patient and did an amazing job from the eye make-up to the hair. The transformation was magical and I was all ready for the shoot!

I then met the very talented photographer, Dev Purbiya. I was initially quite blank when the shoot began but he really motivated me, suggesting poses and angles and made me look beautiful in every picture he took.

In the end, I learned so many new things including how to carry myself with poise and be confident. It was an amazing journey! I’d suggest all brides try this. It definitely gives you a clear picture of your best look for your wedding day.”

Mithila’s look
Makeup artist Recinda Martis decided to accentuate Mithila’s features with a bold yet young phera look. She created the base with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Foundation in Golden Medium and set it with the hydrating formula of Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Golden Medium. For the eyes Recinda used the Lakmé Absolute Eye Chromatic Baked Shadow in Day Shimmer which gave a silky texture to her eyelids. To open up Mithila’s eyes, she used a hint of Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate to the corner of her eyes and a thick application on her waterline and finished with a few coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara. Recinda brushed a soft hint of the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Rose Blush shade. With the lips being the highlight, she used the Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick in Red Rush shade on Mithila’s lips for a defined pout. Finally, her hair was styled in open soft waves twisted and clipped from either sides.
