As part of our initiative, WeddingSutra on Location, we invited four brides-to-be to a unique experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore’s newest luxury hotel. Each bride was introduced to and interacted with some of the best names in Bridal and Wedding services, which included being treated to a personal Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and finally a Photo-Shoot!
In the third of our four-part series, bride-to-be Ragini Chandran shares her experience at WeddingSutra on Location, Bangalore.
“It was just another regular day. I had just finished taking my zumba class and saw a missed call from Vithika Agarwal, one of Bangalore’s most successful wedding planners. Earlier we had browsed through WeddingSutra.com and talked about WeddingSutra on Location in Mumbai. Vithika wanted to tell me that they were coming to Bangalore! I emailed them immediately!
With my busy schedule, including the dance classes I take, I hadn’t been able to give my impending wedding as much thought as might be necessary. I didn’t know where to begin. When a short while later, WeddingSutra emailed me to say that I’d been selected as one of the lucky brides for their shoot in Bangalore I was ecstatic! This was like the first step!!
As I entered the gorgeous Ritz Carlton, Vithika was there, smiling at me warmly. She introduced me to the team of experts, Designer Monica Shah of JADE, Makeup Artist Ralph Daniels and Photographer Dev Pubiya. I was so pleased to meet the Co-founder of WeddingSutra, Parthip Thyagarajan who over lunch told me all about how WeddingSutra started and their journey since then.
Post lunch, I went up to the Bridal Suite of Ritz Carlton where team WeddingSutra took me through a beautiful wardrobe, suggesting options that she would suit me. Personally, everything looked absolutely stunning! It was so hard to choose. I tried them all! But I finally fell in love with a chic, pale pink lehenga with heavy embroidery. I loved the style of the choli. It was something I’d never have chosen myself and that’s the power of amazing style consultants.
Outfit chosen, it was time for hair and make-up. As a model, I’ve worked with Ralph Daniels earlier and know that he is brilliant at his work. He’s always experimenting, being creative. I loved my eye make-up, my hair in soft curls. The transformation was thrilling. The WeddingSutra team then helped me complete my look with a stunning gold choker set and jhumkas by Nikhaar Jewels.
After this came the most awaited part, the photo-shoot! With my experience as a model, I’m not at all self-conscious and love being in front of the camera but this photo-shoot was unlike anything I’ve ever done before. The drama queen in me came alive! The swirls, the expressions, the poses, I just didn’t want it to end. Dev Purbiya is an ace photographer and an absolute darling. He allowed me to let myself loose!
To sum things up, I’d never have thought I’d be part of such an amazing experience. I felt pampered and special with so many people around me. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity Team WeddingSutra!!
Ragini’s Look Ragini has beautiful skin, a classic Indian almond shaped face and features. Ralph decided on a summery lavender and pastel look for her, keeping the hairstyle and makeup fresh and effortless to complement her pastel hued outfit. After moisturizing her face and letting it sink in, Ralph used the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Foundation in Golden Medium shade and buffed it into the skin. “Minimal foundation and careful use of concealer is the key to this look”, adds Ralph. The Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Concealer in Medium masked any blemishes and blended well. He then set the makeup with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Golden Medium on the T-zone and kept the rest of the face untouched. Two shades from the Lakmé Absolute Drama Stylist Shadow Duos in Pink Wink were used all over the eyelids, creating a soft dual color base, extending right up to the brow bone. Ralph then drew a rough line on the upper lash line with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate and then smudged it to soften it. With the same brush he smudged the rest of the Kohl on the lower lash line. After curling the lashes, two coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara was used, making sure to separate the lashes between applications with a brush. A fresh Day Sheer shade of the Lakmé Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blusher was brushed on the apples of her cheeks and blended towards the temples. For the lips Ralph used the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Stylist in Pink Pout. Finally, Ragini’s hair was given a side swept wavy look.
