Sarika Goel – Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio
Discover the transformation of four lucky brides-to-be with WeddingSutra on Location at Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each participant got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the second of the four-part series, bride-to-be Sarika Goel blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio.
“I live and work in Mumbai, and my wedding is taking place in Delhi; since I have a super hectic work schedule I really don’t have a clue on the ‘hot bridal trends’ so I decided to get a grip on all things bridal and weddings by spending a little time on WeddingSutra every day. And it has been the most useful resource for a ‘newbie’ like me. One day I happened to read about WeddingSutra on Location, I wrote in to them, and was delighted when an invite landed in my inbox!
I had an important work meeting in the morning after which I rushed to Anita Dongre’s Studio. I don’t know why, but I was feeling a bit tired, maybe I was a little nervous about what to expect. But a few minutes after I stepped into the store, I forgot about all the stress, and I was ready to enjoy the afternoon with the wedding experts.
First up was a chat with Wedding Planner Candice Pereira. She gave me some really cool inputs on the latest decor trends and shared some tips on wedding planning. She then helped me understand the kind of lehenga colors and styles that would suit me. After trying a few options, I decided on a traditional red raw silk bridal lehenga with gota patti embroidery.
To complete the look, we looked at contemporary jewellery options from Azva. Just as I was wearing the chosen set, I got a first-hand experience of what can be called the ‘wedding day madness’, the earring clasp decided to play hookie and everyone from the team came up with unique solutions- like using double sided tape or a piece of an eraser to keep the earring in place (p.s. the latter tip actually works!).
Next, I got my makeup & hair done by Makeup Artist Recinda Martis. Since I am a complete novice when it comes to make up, I sat quietly and let Recinda and her colleague go about weaving their magic, they gave me a traditional look to compliment my outfit. The session ended with a photo shoot with Wedding Photographer Dev Purbiya. He is a brilliant photographer (in his words, an IITian who can click), and his pleasant disposition put me at ease while he clicked away. As I headed back, I kept smiling thinking about the wonderful experience I had, and how it had made me so much better prepared for my wedding.”
