Our recent WeddingSutra on Location went to the Bandra outlet of AZA Fashions, the popular multi-designer store that houses a wide range of couture, diffusion and prêt collections for brides-to-be with an emphasis on ‘occasion-wear’. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each participant got the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

In the second of the three-part series, bride-to-be Vinita Sonak tells us about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at AZA Fashions, Bandra.

“I was doing some research for my wedding and while browsing the internet, I came across a candid picture of a bride on WeddingSutra’s Instagram which caught my eye! I’ve been following WeddingSutra since for their invaluable insights about weddings, not least for the vendor contacts and information.

A few months ago, I discovered an interesting article that featured the WeddingSutra on Location series and I wrote in expressing my interest. After all, who can resist dolling up in traditional Indian clothes and imagine the joy at having a team of professionals to dress you up! When I was invited to the WeddingSutra on Location at AZA, Bandra for the full-fledged pre-run to being a bride I was thrilled!

I was excited and a little nervous as I reached AZA but the minute I entered, Team WeddingSutra welcomed me and gave me a little time to settle. Then there were by my side the entire time, advising and assisting. I began looking through the clothes and there was this beautiful sea-green lehenga by Rimple and Harpreet Narula. It was unique – a fresh colour combination of gold and mirror work which is very on trend. Not many brides would experiment with this colour palette and honestly, I wouldn’t have either… until I tried it on. We instantly agreed, unanimously that the silhouette was stunning on me. I fell in love with it and could imagine wearing it to my sangeet.

I was sent to have my hair and makeup done by Recinda Martis, an absolute genius at her work. She put me at ease right from the beginning as we chatted about my wedding functions while she gave me a complete makeover. She picked a combination of blue-green smoke on the eyes, subtle pink lips (that went beautifully with my outfit) and Ronella curled my hair. I’ve never had curls before and the result was so amazing! I looked gorgeous and felt really grateful!

To complement the look, Team WeddingSutra and I then chose an antique gold choker by Azva that I absolutely fell in love with. The design was one of a kind. I had no second thoughts about it.

The cherry on top was the photoshoot. Hardik from Picture Perfect was casual and friendly and kept it all so candid that he ensured I didn’t feel self-conscious at all. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day and the experience was one of a kind. Thank you WeddingSutra!”

Vinita’s Look
Makeup Artist Recinda Martis decided to highlight Vinita’s eyes and lips with a pop of color. Recinda began with applying the feather-light Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation in Natural Flare shade all over her face and then set it with the hydrating formula of Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Ivory Fair. To highlight the eyes, Recinda used the shimmery sea green shade of the newly launched Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Gold all over her eyelids. To add oomph, Recinda used the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate at the outer corner of her eyes and smudged it for a smokey look and then brushed on a few coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara. Recinda used a hint of the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Rose Blush shade on the apples of her cheeks. For the lips, Recinda used the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer in Pink Flash shade for a fresh and bold bridal pout. Finally, her hair was set in a side swept style with soft curls.
