WeddingSutra On Location @ KALKI Fashion

WeddingSutra On Location invited three lucky brides-to-be to KALKI in Santacruz, Mumbai. Kicking off with a style consultation, makeup makeover by Recinda Martis for Lakme Absolute, jewellery by Azva, photography by Picture Together, the brides-to-be Khusboo Bhatia, Shivani Naik and Shristi Bhanaga had an opportunity to interact with some of the wedding industry’s finest professionals.

Khusboo Bhatia
“I started surfing the internet the minute my wedding date was fixed and that’s how I discovered WeddingSutra. It’s such a comprehensive guide to all things ‘wedding’. I was hooked. And then I saw the “WeddingSutra On Location” series I really wanted to experience it. I reached out to them and was thrilled to be shortlisted!

I was a nervous wreck on the day of the shoot but Team WeddingSutra just put me at ease immediately as I entered the gorgeous studio. As I looked to choose a bridal lehenga, a pastel green stole my attention. I knew I didn’t need to look any further – the colour, the embellishment, the detail, it was nothing short of perfection. I put it on and it fit like it had been custom made for me. I felt like a Princess in a fairy tale!

Then I was introduced to makeup artist Recinda Martis and hair stylist Ronella. Getting glammed up by this sister duo was just so much fun! My lehenga was heavy with embellishment so they kept my face subtle, hair side-swept with a pile of natural mermaid curls. When I looked in the mirror I saw a bridal diva!

Team WeddingSutra then gave me a beautifully crafted gold choker from Azva that complemented my outfit perfectly. The bangles and earrings completed the look.

I was a little camera shy at first but photographer Mahesh Patra made me feel very comfortable as he captured natural candid shots.

It was an incredible, unbelievable experience! I’ve never felt so pampered and I’d suggest every bride tries out. Thank you WeddingSutra for making me feel like a celebrity bride for the day!”

Shivani Naik
“I’ve been an avid follower of WeddingSutra and my research had already familiarized me with the concept of WeddingSutra on Location. I have to admit I’d always dreamed of having a ‘princess’ photoshoot and I wrote in. I wasn’t expecting them to call. When they did I was ecstatic!

My day at KALKI, Santacruz began with a warm WeddingSutra welcome from the team. As I started looking through the beautiful bridal creations I came across a green lehenga that I thought would suit me perfectly. I don’t usually like the colour but there was something about the silhouette, style, and embellishments… I tried it on and it fit really well and had a ‘royal’ feel to it.

Then I met makeup whiz Recinda and hairstylist Ronella and they just made me look my absolute best! I sort of insisted they give me curls (I’m quite bored with my poker straight hair) and they obliged: my hair was so beautiful and bouncy I couldn’t stop touching it!

The makeup was perfection with special emphasis on accentuating my eyes with a soft smokey look. I think they created a very subtle and sophisticated visage.

I chose a stunning choker by Azva and Team WeddingSutra helped me pick a beautiful pair of bangles and a statement ring. Did I feel like a princess? Yes!

Ready, it was time to proceed to the photo-shoot with Mahesh Patra who is so fun to be around he made me forget any nervousness. He made sure he captured the best candid moments from the shoot without letting me feel overwhelmed by it all!

All in all, it was everything I imagined it would be and a truly one of a kind experience. Thank you and kudos to you WeddingSutra for organising such a splendid shoot!”

Shristi Bhanaga
“I’d heard my friends raving about previous WeddingSutra photoshoots but had never had the time to go to the website. After I got engaged, I sat down and went through the site carefully to see what was on offer. What a gamut of services! I started paying close attention to every click and discovered the ‘On Location’ series. Curiosity got the better of me and I wrote to them without even telling my fiancé. (He couldn’t believe it when I told him I’d been selected for their next shoot at KALKI Fashion in Santacruz.)

I was a bit nervous about the shoot but Team WeddingSutra made sure I was comfortable immediately. I was asked to choose a lehenga and as I browsed through so many beautiful ones, a peach one caught my eye. I must confess I was unsure about the colour but I tried it on and fit like a glove!

The necklace by Azva was perfect for the look and I couldn’t stop touching it, it was so beautiful! The bangles and ring really completed the whole outfit.

I’m not a big fan of makeup and I’m a bit shy but Recinda was wonderful – she accentuated my natural features with a bit of shimmer and a pop of colour on the cheeks. My hair had beachy waves and it just added to the glamour of the whole ensemble.

And then, the shoot! I had such an amazing time with photographer Mahesh Patra. I didn’t even realize we were done because he kept chatting with me casually as he took photographs.
