Actress Shweta Tripathi wed Chaitanya Sharma in Goa and the celebrations included a heady Mehndi party and a beautiful traditional wedding.
‘Masaan’ actress Shweta Tripathi tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, actor-rapper Chaitanya Sharma aka SlowCheeta.
The celebrations kick started in Mumbai with a mehndi ceremony that took place at Shweta’s best friend’s house in Mumbai. This intimate affair attended by close family and friends was a fun-filled evening with the bride looking radiant in a yellow mid-length dress. Her quirky yet beautiful mehndi was a reflection of the couple’s fun love story. While her left hand had a rollercoaster made since that’s where Chaitanya asked her out when they started dating, on the right hand was an airplane since their love story began on one. Her mehndi also had their wedding date along with theatre masks representing the place where they first met and their common love for theatre.
This private mehndi ceremony was followed by a pre-wedding bash at Arth, Mumbai where the bride turned heads in a custom made SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi. She looked beautiful in a pink floral gown while Chaitanya wore a bandh gala to the evening bash. Celebrities who joined the couple for their pre-wedding celebrations included the likes of Kiran Rao, Guneet Monga, Akarsh Khurana, Neeraj Ghaywan, Sumeet Vyas, Shikha Talsania, Anand Tiwari, Vivaan Shah, Angira Dhar, Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaokar, Mallika Dua, Sapna Pabbi and Jasleen Royal.
The bride-to-be also exchanged a ring with her groom which was designed by herself. The concept of the latitude and longitudes of Mumbai and Delhi inscribed on the ring indicated that Chaitanya is from Mumbai and Shweta is from Delhi. After a heady night of partying, the families and the couple headed to Goa for their traditional Indian wedding.
The bride looked gorgeous on her wedding day in a custom made ensemble from Papa Don’t Preach and she accentuated her bridal look with a golden maathapatti, a choker and gold earrings. Chaitanya complemented his bride in a maroon kurta-pyjama set. The wedding was thematically designed by Devika Narain. The beautiful nuptials at the luxurious Alila Diwa Goa was followed by a pyjama party/pool party, which doubled up as the post-wedding bash-cum-reception.
