When Annie and Rahul envisioned their dream wedding, they sought an experience that was both rooted in nature and infused with innovation. With unbridled creativity, WeddingSutra Favorite – To The Aisle, made the couple’s vision unfold against the breathtaking tropical canvas of Thailand. The design team transformed the untouched beauty of a remote island into a spectacular celebration, marking a milestone in destination weddings.
Wedding Venue
This wedding made history as the very first hosted at Anantara Koh Yao Yai, a luxury resort set on a secluded Thai island that only opened to guests in late 2024. Remote and untouched, the island offered a pristine setting where land and sea converged in harmony. The tropical beauty of Thailand provided an unparalleled backdrop, where azure waters and unspoiled greenery framed every moment.
Wedding Planning
With no prior blueprint to follow, To The Aisle pioneered every design detail from the ground up. Drawing inspiration from the island’s treehouses, glowing plankton, and the natural textures of sand and stone, the planners embraced the philosophy of uncovering grandeur rather than imposing it. “We wanted every element to feel like it belonged here, as though the island had always been waiting for this wedding. The approach balanced organic authenticity with inventive artistry, setting a new benchmark for destination weddings in Thailand,” shares Prerika Puri of To The Aisle.
Wedding Functions
Tea Ceremony
The wedding journey began with a Tea Ceremony that honored Annie’s Chinese heritage. Hand-embroidered detailing and refined cultural touches lent the occasion a sense of intimacy, beautifully reflecting tradition within a contemporary tropical setting.
Sangeet
With no conventional banquet hall available, the Sangeet was reimagined beneath a custom-designed marquee featuring 550 square meters of immersive 360-degree LED walls. Inspired by the bioluminescent plankton native to the island’s waters, the visuals created a digital ocean glow. Guests found themselves transported into a luminous seascape where music, dance, and light merged into an unforgettable evening.
Vow Exchange
The vow exchange brought together black-tie sophistication and island charm. A refined yet relaxed ambience showcased how nature-inspired design and cutting-edge technology could coexist, creating a ceremony that was both elegant and rooted in its tropical context.
Wedding
The pinnacle of the celebrations was the wedding ceremony set at a ‘Treehouse’ Mandap that seemed to rise organically from the rugged coastline. Cleverly concealed beneath thermocol rocks and sand, its structure blended effortlessly with the terrain, making it appear as though it had always been a part of the island. Transparent acrylic chairs ensured uninterrupted ocean views, while the bride’s ascent up wooden steps lent a sense of adventure and symbolism to the sacred moment.
