Elizabeth and Nikhil Vazirani, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur
With distinct themes that balances grandeur with meaningful elements, this couple’s wedding reflected their journey and global sensibilities.
Elizabeth and Nikhil Vazirani’s wedding unfolded as a beautifully layered celebration of cultures, emotions, and shared histories, brought to life by the thoughtful vision of WeddingSutra Favorite – To The Aisle and the seamless execution of WeddingSutra Favorite – Kkings Events. Designed with intention and planned with precision, the festivities struck a rare balance between global sensibilities and rooted traditions, creating an experience that felt both immersive and deeply personal for every guest in attendance.

How They Met
It began years ago in London, where Elizabeth had spent most of her life, while Nikhil lived in the same building as several of her friends. Despite crossing paths in proximity, they never quite met. Years later, after Elizabeth had spent nearly eight years in Dubai, a chance dinner arranged by a mutual friend finally brought them together. What followed felt almost instinctive. They quickly discovered a shared love for sailing, the ocean, skiing, and spontaneous travel. He asked her out the very same day, booked himself onto her return flight to London, and by Valentine’s Day, they were already skiing in St. Moritz, setting the tone for a relationship rooted in adventure and synchronicity.
The Proposal
Months later, during a Diwali trip to Dubai, Nikhil suggested a casual jet-ski outing on the day Elizabeth was set to fly back. What seemed like a spontaneous plan soon unfolded into something far more meaningful.
Out on the water, they arrived at a yacht adorned with a heart crafted from red flowers. Inside, he had meticulously arranged a new dress, shoes, and even her makeup essentials, ensuring she felt her best for the moment he had planned. On the upper deck, with the Dubai skyline framing the evening and music from The Parent Trap playing softly, he asked her to marry him.
Wedding Planning
The November wedding, designed by To The Aisle and meticulously planned by Kkings Events, was rooted in intention rather than excess. As Prerika Puri from To The Aisle shares, “Elizabeth and Nikhil were clear from the outset that they did not want a ‘wedding factory’ aesthetic. Their brief leaned towards creating something that felt immersive, personal, and rooted in emotion rather than overt spectacle. Each function was envisioned as its own world, with a distinct mood and narrative, tied together by refinement and intentionality. For me, the design of this wedding was never about decoration, it was about building emotion into form.”
Monil Shah from Kkings Events adds, “With guests arriving from across the world, it was important that everyone felt included in the experience. Each event was accompanied by thoughtfully designed booklets explaining the rituals and their significance, allowing guests to engage more meaningfully.
The celebrations were executed across three venues, with over 200 guests travelling in from multiple countries, making logistics, guest movement, and time management central to the planning process. Guest arrival waves were carefully mapped to the flow of events, while hospitality was designed keeping international travel and comfort in mind. Planning was managed across time zones through a structured communication system, ensuring seamless coordination despite the scale and complexity. Experiences were thoughtfully curated to reflect both Indian traditions and global sensibilities, while entertainment became a key highlight with bands travelling in from across the world. For the English wedding, seating arrangements were meticulously planned to accommodate over 500 guests, ensuring both comfort and continuity across the day-long celebration. The celebrations were intimate yet expansive in experience, with every detail carefully considered to reflect the couple’s story.”
Having lived across London, Mumbai, and Dubai, Elizabeth and Nikhil envisioned a wedding that felt global yet grounded. Each celebration unfolded as its own immersive setting, balancing scale with restraint, and heritage with a contemporary sensibility. From a mandap constructed in a previously unpermitted part of the property to an English ceremony defined by a sea of white roses, the wedding stood as a testament to thoughtful design and seamless planning.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
The Welcome Lunch set the tone with a light, playful interpretation of Rajasthan. Transparent acrylic structures were softened with pastel hues, while handcrafted silverware and curated details added depth. Whimsical elements like bangle makers, camel motifs, and the bride’s now-signature pink floral elephants lent the setting a sense of charm and cultural nostalgia. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, gently easing guests into the celebrations while remaining unmistakably refined.

Sangeet
The Sangeet marked a dramatic shift in tone, unfolding as a high-energy spectacle. A towering glass stage, layered with immersive 3D mapping, became the focal point as digital peacocks moved fluidly across palace walls. The interplay of light, movement, and jewel-toned accents created a cinematic environment that felt alive and constantly evolving, capturing the celebratory spirit of the evening.

Hindu Wedding
For the Hindu ceremony, the design turned poetic and almost surreal. A lotus-shaped mandap was constructed in a part of the property where structures had never been permitted before, marking a first for the venue. Designed to appear as though it emerged organically from the lake, the setting was completed with a green-lined ramp and the soft glow of sunset reflections. The result was ethereal, as though suspended between water and sky.

English Wedding
The English wedding embraced restraint with quiet confidence. Nearly fifty thousand white roses transformed the forecourt into a cloud-like garden, where long white aisles and vintage wrought-iron chairs created a sense of understated grandeur. This was complemented by a thoughtfully curated Wedding Lunch, planned and executed by the planning team in collaboration with the hotel team, and seamlessly timed with heartfelt speeches, creating one of those rare celebrations that unfolded beautifully through the day. Set against the soft ivory tones of the palace, the decor felt sculptural and serene, offering a striking contrast to the vibrancy of the preceding celebrations.
