Palak and Kamal – Antalya, Turkey
Bollywood’s brightest turn Kamal and Palak’s grand wedding into a Turkish delight!
Hailed the ‘Indian wedding of the year’, Ajay Gupta’s tasteful, lavish celebration of the wedding of his son Kamal to Palak Jain, at the iconic Mardan Palace in the Mediterranean city of Antalya sparkled not just with fireworks.
Sunny Photography, a film and photography company who specialize in high-profile weddings and events across the UK, India and the rest of the globe caught an entourage of Bollywood glitterati at the wedding. Framed, having an absolute blast, were the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, Anil Kapoor, Zarine Khan, Zayed Khan, Neha Dhupia, etc…
Wedding Venue and Functions
Ajay Gupta spared no expense. The Mardan Palace stands head and shoulders above every other venue in Antalya’s Kundu area, known for its luxury hotels. The entire palace was booked exclusively for wedding guests between the 23rd and 26th of April. Four different areas within the hotel premises were cleared and then redecorated in 10 days by no fewer than 15 different party planning companies! The breathtaking lighting was set up by a 40-person crew from the UK. The hotel’s pool, purportedly the largest in Europe, was covered with a platform and transformed into a wedding stage for over 100 singers, acrobats and dancers to perform.
That the bride is a huge Parineeti fan is well known and so, to surprise her, Pari mounted this very stage to perform to a medley of her hits from “Bol Baliye”, “Jigar Da Tukda” and “Zehnaseeb”. Other performances included those by Mika Singh and Honey Singh who crooned Punjabi tracks while Arijit Singh rendered down-tempo, romantic songs from ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Fitoor’ which marked the couple’s first dance too.
Fireworks and dazzling shows illuminated crackling atmosphere around the groom, seated in a decorated carriage as he made his way in the hour and half long baraat, a traditional marriage procession to the wedding venue. The bride, cynosure of every eye, looked beautiful in every elaborate traditional Indian outfit she wore over the course of the 72-hour celebration.
Wedding Makers
For three days and three nights, a staff of 380, featuring specialisations from tailoring to tattoo art, worked to meet the couple’s and their families’ requirements. Also in attendance, but behind the scenes, was the clockwork precision of 150 chefs, 86 butlers, 50 photographers, over 100 musicians and acrobats and a horde of security personnel to cater for some 600 guests from the UK, Dubai and South Africa!
