Sukriti and Arjun, Turkey
Sukriti and Arjun's Turkish wedding on a pier with breathtaking views of the surrounding waters was a picture-perfect affair.
In Arjun, Sukriti found a sense of safety and comfort when she shifted to an unfamiliar city, and soon, the two had forged a deep connection. When it was time to take their relationship to the next level, they organized a destination wedding and took the team of WeddingSutra Favorite – Gautam Khullar Photography along to preserve the revelries in wonderful frames. The bride shares with us some highlights and pictures of the celebrations.
How They Met
“Our relationship began when I had moved to Mumbai for work, and was introduced to Arjun through a common friend. Soon enough we became close and there was no looking back since then.”
Wedding Venue
“We were sure that ours would be a destination wedding since we wanted an intimate affair, and went ahead with Antalya, Turkey, for its natural bounty. I am a beach bum and needless to say, I was hoping to wed by the shores. Antalya happened to have some splendid Mediterranean beaches with hypnotizing sunsets, lush forests, and sparkly blue seas. Thus this destination became our natural pick.”
Wedding Planning
“Our wedding was shot by Gautam Khullar Photography. An ace wedding photographer, he is known for freezing emotions and moments in their purest form. He captured this beautiful and most memorable event of our life wonderfully!”
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
“Our sangeet was an all-white affair. There is no other color that looks as elegant and serene as this one, thus the decor and theme revolved around a palette of white and gold. The setup was minimalistic and elegant and turned out to be just the way I had envisioned it. Being the designers behind the label Sukriti & Aakriti, my sister and I designed my lehenga for this function. It was an off-white chikankari lehenga that featured pastel embroidery along with crystals, sequins, and zardozi work. I matched it to a lotus motif polki necklace, earrings, and pastel bangles.”
Mehndi
“The theme for this function was ‘Fun in the Sun,’ and it was hosted on the sprawling lawns of the property. The colors we used for the decor here were light pink, fuchsia and gold. There were potlis and drapes that hung from the ceiling of a large canopy under which most of our guests had gathered. Besides this, we had fabric hangings suspended from the branches of the trees. With my entire squad dressed in Sukriti & Aakriti, our label turned out to be the dress code for this function! I wore a rich purple outfit that went perfectly with the mood of the festivities.”
Beach Party
“The beach party was very relaxed and the decor reflected the same. We stayed away from a setup that entailed a lot of elements and opted to do up the space only a little using fairy lights. I wore a lime green beach dress by Swapnil Shinde and it was super sweet of him to customize it with a high slit which added to the oomph factor! Arjun, on the other hand, wore a suit by Karrtik D.”
Haldi
A small intimate haldi function was held on the morning of the wedding. This was a very emotional ceremony and included only family members. We also had the chooda and kaleerein ceremony during this function.
Wedding
“Our wedding took place upon a pier where we were surrounded by water. It was such a beautiful setting, and in order to let its loveliness stand out, we chose minimal garden-inspired decor in muted hues along with foliage that complemented the beautiful blue waterscapes. I wanted my wedding outfit to be in an unusual hue, so I chose a green lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee with floral details. Arjun also wore a Sabyasachi ensemble. I matched my lehenga with kemp and polki jewellery from Sabyasachi’s collection.
Reception
“Our reception took on a very regal mood with the decor in the colors of red and gold. We brought in lots of roses and glowing candles. I wore a grey gown with green and blue bugle beads by Gaurav Gupta for the reception. It was an edgier pick, but it won my heart the moment I saw it. Arjun opted for a black tuxedo from Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna.”
