Shreedhara and Sahaj, Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa
Surrounded by the majestic Aravallis, this couple’s destination wedding in Jaipur was a heady mix of elegance and glamour.
Set against the sculpted hills of Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa, Shreedhara and Sahaj’s wedding unfolded with a sense of intimacy and quiet grandeur. With WeddingSutra Favourite – IWP – Indian Wedding Planners leading the planning, every detail was handled with care, keeping the couple’s story at the heart of the celebrations. The venue’s sandstone textures, stepwell-inspired courtyards and layered terraces created a striking setting, while the overall experience felt seamless and personal.

How They Met
Shreedhara shares, “Sahaj and I didn’t begin as a love story; we began as two people who simply found comfort in each other’s company. We were just friends who met occasionally, mostly to rant about life, share random thoughts, and escape our routines for a while. He had just returned from Texas and joined his family business, while I was fully immersed in litigation at the High Court. Slowly and surely, with the ebbs and flows of life, we discovered love and friendship.”

The Proposal
He proposed at Giardino Jai Mahal Palace, the very place where they had gone for their first date. It was simple, thoughtful and full of meaning. “Just like us,” she reflects. “And the ring he gave me isn’t just something I wear every day.”

Wedding Venue
What drew the couple to Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa was its setting within the Aravalli hills. The property felt private, calm and naturally romantic. The stepwell-inspired courtyards, sandstone surfaces and open terraces created distinct spaces for each function, while the soft golden light across the venue added an effortless visual appeal.
“As a couple, we didn’t just have a beautiful wedding, we felt like we were part of a story unfolding in the Aravallis,” Shreedhara shares. “Taj Devi Ratn doesn’t just host a wedding; it creates an atmosphere. It feels intimate yet grand, modern yet rooted, luxurious yet warm.”
Guests moved easily through the celebrations without feeling crowded, yet everything remained connected, allowing each moment to flow into the next with ease.

Wedding Planning
Working with IWP – Indian Wedding Planners ensured that the entire journey felt smooth and well-supported. The team handled every detail with attention and anticipation, often stepping in before the couple even realised something needed to be addressed.
“Our experience with them was truly unforgettable,” Shreedhara shares. “They made sure that everything was taken care of, often before we even realised it needed attention. Through all the chaos and emotions, they stood beside us like family.”
She adds, “What touched me the most was how personally they took everything. They didn’t just execute tasks; they understood our vision, our emotions, and the importance of each function. Every detail felt thoughtful, every space looked beautiful, and the entire wedding came together more beautifully than we had imagined.”

Wedding Functions
Mehndi Carnival
The Mehndi was designed as a lively daytime celebration anchored in warm tones. A rust red backdrop set the base, layered with florals and pampas grass for added texture. Pillar candles introduced a soft elegance, balancing the otherwise playful setting. The atmosphere felt relaxed and festive, allowing the couple and their friends to fully enjoy the afternoon.

Sangeet
The Sangeet shifted into a more glamorous setting with a green and gold palette. Warm lighting and a canopy of fairy lights created a glowing ambience, while deep green drapes added depth to the space. The evening was filled with performances, with the couple taking the stage alongside their friends and family. It was energetic, engaging and centred around shared celebration.

Wedding
For the wedding ceremony, the design moved towards a softer palette. A white mandap formed the focal point, with subtle accents of peach, lavender and green woven in. The setting felt calm and balanced, allowing the ceremony to stand out without distraction. Surrounded by the architecture of the venue and natural light, the moment felt composed and intimate.

Advice For Couples
The bride shares, “To all the upcoming brides and grooms, one thing I learned is that your wedding is not just an event, it’s a series of fleeting moments. Don’t get so caught up in perfecting everything that you forget to live it. Take small breaks for yourself. Step away for five minutes, breathe, look around, and let it sink in. These are the days you’ll never get back.
Delegate tasks. Trust your family, friends, and planners. You don’t have to answer every call or solve every tiny issue. The more you let go, the more you’ll actually enjoy your own wedding.
Also, don’t push yourself to lose weight in the last three months. Stress and drastic changes only make things harder. Focus on feeling healthy and comfortable, not different.
Most importantly, do proper outfit trials. Wear everything together, jewellery, shoes, and dupatta, and make sure measurements are perfect. Comfort changes your entire experience.
And above all, enjoy the days. Laugh more, worry less, and be present. The decor fades, timelines blur, but how you felt will stay forever.”
