The decade was filled with big names getting hitched. There were over-the-top, elaborate functions, hush-hush private ceremonies and even a few surprise nuptials. Pictures from celebrity weddings were constantly doing the rounds on social media and had us glued to our phones waiting for updates. From #DeepVeer, #NickYanka, #Virushka and #AmbaniPiramal to #Saifeena, #MonkeyCouple and #gocheetagetbattata, here are our favorite weddings from the last decade.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma finally tied the knot after weeks and weeks of speculation that they were getting hitched prior to the actual date of their marriage. Theirs was a beautiful destination wedding that was held in Italy. The couple met in 2013 while shooting a commercial together. After a brief period of ups and downs, Virat publicly confirmed his feelings for his lady love when he came to her rescue on Twitter, when trolls put the blame on Anushka for his poor performance in 2015.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh
Bollywood’s most famous and successful couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, tied the knot at the picturesque Lake Como in Italy. The couple’s matching Sabyasachi outfits, the luxurious venues, the beautiful traditional rituals and their tangible chemistry made this celebration one of the most memorable of the decade.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja
Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor got married to her longtime beau Anand Ahuja in a traditional wedding, leaving her fans and the fashion world a tad surprised. She chose her hometown Mumbai to celebrate her big day, which had a cosy, classy and romantic vibe. Her outfits were beautifully-traditional yet still managed to showcase the reason why she remains one of India’s major style icons.

#Nickyanka’s wedding had everyone across the world caught up in its frenzy. The two celebrated this milestone in Jodhpur, with 225 guests over four days of festivities, including a vibrant mehndi, a lavish sangeet, a Hindu wedding ceremony and a white wedding.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas surprised everyone with an impromptu wedding in Las Vegas. The duo casually walked into a chapel and walked out as husband and wife after the Billboard Music Awards in May 2019. The lovebirds later made things more official with a grand wedding celebration in France.

Mira Rajput and Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s union was through an arranged marriage. The wedding was held in Delhi and the couple also hosted a star-studded reception in Mumbai a few days later. They now have two children: a girl named Misha and a little boy called Zain.

Rumour has it that the nawab fell in love with his begum while filming Tashan. It was a classic case of on-screen romance blossoming offscreen. The duo wed after dating for a few years, they now have an adorable son, Taimur Ali Khan – the most talked-about celebrity kid in the industry.

Soha fell for Kunal while shooting a film together. They started dating and, after a long courtship of around seven years, tied the knot in a gorgeous intimate ceremony. The couple is blessed with a little bundle of joy; a baby girl called Inaaya Naumi Kemmu.
Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal
First there was an emotional proposal at a temple in Mahabaleshwar. Then the pre-wedding functions in Udaipur. And finally, the grand nuptials were held at the luxurious Mumbai abode of the Ambani’s, Antilia. Isha and Anand’s wedding was a lavish affair that included a private Beyoncé concert and practically the whole of Bollywood shaking a leg at the sangeet.
Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani
Akash Ambani got married to Shloka Mehta in a grand ceremony in Mumbai, with A-listers from B-Town, the business world and politics in attendance. From Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri to former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie, big names were at the wedding venue to bless the couple.
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony at a gurudwara in New Delhi. We loved the bride’s outfit – she looked enchanting in a pastel pink lehenga. The couple is blessed with an adorable daughter named Mehr Dhupia Bedi.

One of the most anticipated weddings of the decade finally took place in May as US television actress Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a historic royal wedding. The wedding ceremony was all the more special as it included elements of the bride’s heritage, marking the beginning of a more modern era in the royal family.
Ankita Konwar and Milind Soman
The news of Milind Soman dating Ankita Konwar was received with much scepticism because of their massive age difference. However, the duo couldn’t have looked more well suited and in love in their wedding pictures. After going steady for over two years, the couple married in an intimate ceremony in Alibaug.
Antara Motiwala and Mohit Marwah
Actor Mohit Marwah from the film Fugly tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend and celebrity stylist Antara Motiwala in a grand ceremony in Ras al-Khaimah, UAE. We loved how the bride showcased the power of pink through her wedding functions, with the majority of the decor in shades of candy pink.

Actress Shweta Tripathi tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Chaitanya Sharma in Goa.
